Education

Prior to freelancing, Charity obtained her Batchelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Simpson College.  Charity also studied under artist Ellen Susan, who is well known for her wet plate collodion photography.

The Story

Charity Miles was born and raised in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

The daughter of a Volkswagen mechanic and an artist, she learned to see things with a different point of view.

Recognition

Charity's work has earned recognition for Editor's Pick, Spotted Favorites Photographer of the Year in 2008.  She was the featured write-up and photographer for the Coastal Kids Market in the West Chatham Neighbor.  She was chosen from workshop attendees to assist with Wet Plate photography on the movie set "Conspirator".  Her arson fire photographs were featured in the 1st Responder Newspaper.  She contributed to the Weddings for Warriors project as well.  Her photo was also selected as a novel cover for the book, "For He Is Summer" by Sonja Heisinger.

Currently she lives outside Savannah, Georgia.  She is known for her photojournalistic style with natural light.  As a lifestyle photographer, she enjoys traveling, taking photos of families, small children, historic living, as well as current events.  Currently she is pursuing lifestyle and editorial photography, using her homestead for inspiration.

Previously, she was a freelance photographer for Savannah Morning News Spotted department.  She had covered local and national events for over five years.
